B Born in Northwest Indiana, got a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a master's from Indiana University and roots for both (even when they play each other). Her work has won several awards from Indiana Broadcasters Association, Society of Professional Journalists/Indiana Chapter, and Network Indiana. Has also had academic papers selected for presentation at national conferences like Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and Broadcast Education Association
She and Steve Zana won a Spectrum Award for Best Radio Station Broadcast Personality or Team in 2008 from the Indiana Broadcasters Association for the Indiana 105 Dawn Patrol Morning Show. They had been nominated in the top three in 2006 and 2007
Laura attended high school at River Forest (home of the Ingots) in Hobart, IN. Some of her favorite country singers are Clint Black, Randy Travis, Josh Turner, and Garth Brooks, while Johnny Cash and Glen Campbell are on her list of favorite classic artists. Favorite movies include Galaxy Quest (1999), Rebecca (1940), Casablanca (1942), and Airplane (1980).
Laura watched her share of game shows growing up then goes out to California and ends up being on one of them ("Sale of the Century"). Her TV favorites include The Honeymooners, The Big Bang Theory, Project Runway, Seinfeld and Star Trek (TNG and the original). Enjoys crossword puzzles and when asked what some of her favorite places to visit are she says -- office supply stores

Raise your hands if you've scrubbed them properly
The Soap and Detergent Association's 5th annual Clean Hands Report Card says Americans get a B-minus for hand hygiene this year, a full grade up from last year's barely-passing C-minus. Half of those polled reported washing their hands at least ten times a day, up 14-percent over last year. And -- 70-percent scrub up at least seven times daily, an 18-percent increase jump.
