No Performance Tax
The Performance Rights Act is a proposed bill that would essentially "bail out the record industry." Local radio stations would be required to pay something similar to a tax for every song that is played on the air.
Here is where the money would go: • 50% of the money would go to the giant record labels (most of which are in foreign countries) • 45% would go to the artists. • 5% percent would go to the background singers and musicians
