In Lake County, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says State Road 2 will be closed between U.S. 41 and the Illinois state line this Spring for a bridge replacement project over West Creek Ditch. A news release from INDOT said the closure of State Road 2 from U.S. 41 west of Lowell to Stateline Road is scheduled to begin on or after Monday, March 18, 2024, and continue through late June. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. The official detour will follow U.S. 41, State Road 10, Illinois Route 114 and Illinois Route 17.
