Longtime Porter Superior Court Judge David Chidester Passes Away

In Porter County, former longtime Superior Court Judge David Chidester has passed away. He served as Judge of the Porter Superior Court in Valparaiso from 2003 until 2021 and was the first judge in Porter County to operate and develop a mental health court called the Restoration Court, his obituary said. Visitation and a funeral mass will be held this week. Judge Chidester was preceded in death by his wife former longtime Judge Mary Harper in 2022. Judge Chidester was 69.
