In Porter County, Indiana Dunes National Park invites the public to gather with nature enthusiasts in the Region for Science Fridays, and the next installment in the series will be presented by Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society president Kim Ehn and board member Dan Barriball at Indiana Dunes Visitor Center on North State Road 49, about a mile north of Interstate 94 on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Central Time. A news release said it’s an opportunity to learn how community science data can guide habitat protection and restoration, and how watching birds can impact an entire species, like the Whippoorwill, Piping Plover, Wood Thrush, and Great Blue Heron.
