In northwest Indiana, Ivy Tech Community College will hold commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Ivy Tech Lake County’s Class of 2025 includes approximately 1,200 graduates earning more than 1,600 degrees and certificates during the 2024-2025 academic year. The Lake County campus event begins at 4:30 pm and will be livestreamed on the campus Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/IvyTechLakeCounty . It will be held at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center on Broadway in Merrillville. Ivy Tech Lake County campus locations are Crown Point, East Chicago, and Gary. Ivy Tech President Dr. Sue Ellspermann, who is retiring June 30 after nine years at the helm of the College, will deliver the Commencement address. Ellspermann, the ninth president of Ivy Tech, joined the College in 2016 after serving as Indiana’s 50th Lieutenant Governor. “Graduation marks a powerful milestone in our students’ lives,” said Heather Hart, interim chancellor of the Lake County campus. “It’s a testament to their hard work, perseverance and the countless hours they have invested in their future. At the Ivy Tech Lake County campus, we are incredibly proud of each of our graduates. Their success is a celebration for our entire community, and we are excited to see the impact they will make next.”
In Valparaiso, Ivy Tech Community College will honor over 1,000 graduates at its annual commencement ceremony on Thursday May 8, 2025, at 6pm CT. The ceremony will take place at the Valparaiso University Athletics Recreation Center on Union Street in Valparaiso. Students earned almost 1,700 degrees and certificates during the 2024-2025 academic year. The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Dean Mazzoni, President/CEO of Franciscan Health Michigan City. “We are incredibly excited and proud of all our students and their many accomplishments. Our students have worked tirelessly to accomplish their degrees. We are greatly looking forward to seeing all our students gathered alongside their families and guests of honor to share in this special day,” said Campus Chancellor, Aco Sikoski.
