In Porter County near Burns Harbor and the town of Porter, bridge repairs will require about a two-week closure on U.S. 20 at the I-94 interchange. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says beginning on or after Monday, June 2, 2025, eastbound U.S. 20 will be closed under the interstate at Exit 22 so repair work can be conducted on the Interstate 94 bridge above. In addition the ramp from eastbound I-94 to eastbound U.S. 20 will be closed due to the location of the work zone. The official detour will follow I-94 to State Road 49 and utilize the loop ramps at that interchange to turn around.
