In Lake County, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says a road project affecting traffic in the vicinity of Southlake Mall is getting underway and motorists should expect changing traffic patterns while this work is occurring through mid-September 2025. INDOT says alternating lane closures will be conducted at Ring Road/Mall Entrance B for a culvert replacement. A news release said contractor Rieth-Riley Construction will have lane closures on U.S. 30 between Mississippi Street and Colorado Street beginning on or after Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Region motorists are also advised that access to Southlake Mall at Mall Entrance B will be impacted and to plan alternate routes.
