Red Cross officials in the Hoosier state are offering advice to help stay safe during the upcoming heat wave. The American Red Cross of the Indiana Region urges everyone to take three critical actions: Stay hydrated; Stay cool by spending time in air-conditioned places; and Stay connected by checking on others and asking for help if you need it. They also urge everyone to make sure pets have access to fresh water and shade. Here is a link for more information from the American Red Cross. The Red Cross also says it has a free Emergency app for real-time weather alerts and heat safety information. It’s available in smartphone app stores by searching for the American Red Cross; more information is available at the Red Cross website at redcross.org/apps .
