Lake County Parks says it is launching a community outreach initiative, “Let’s Talk Parks”. “Lake County Parks and Recreation is always striving to provide the residents of Lake County quality facilities and programs,” said Jim Basala, CEO of Lake County Parks and Recreation. “This survey will aid us in understanding the needs and concerns of our constituents. It is just one more tool to improve what is already an outstanding park department.” This project is made possible thanks to the support of the Legacy Foundation through their Transform Lake County grant program, a news release said. Dates and details for community conversations and pop-ups will be announced throughout the summer at lakecountyparks.com and on Lake County Parks’ social media.
Through mid-October, Lake County Parks staff will be engaging the public in a variety of ways, including:
– Let’s Talk Parks Survey – Available now at lakecountyparks.com/survey , the survey gathers input on how people use the parks, what programs they enjoy, and what they would like to see next. Digital survey stations will also be available at public locations like the Indiana Welcome Center, local businesses, community libraries, and more.
– Community Conversations – Featuring refreshments and relaxed conversations with Lake County Parks staff at locations across Lake County parks and alongside community partners. Conversations are planned at places like Gibson Woods, Bellaboo’s, and Tradewinds—with more to come throughout the summer.
– Park Pop-ups – “Let’s Talk Parks” opportunities at existing upcoming events, like vintage baseball games at Deep River, or Buckley’s Fall Fest in Lowell. Stop by to talk parks, or scan a QR code to share your thoughts.
