In Illinois, the Village of Lansing welcomes back the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra (NISO) for its annual concert at Fox Pointe on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. Now in its fifth year, the free performance draws music lovers from across the Region. The Village of Lansing also said this year’s concert holds special significance as Maestro Kirk Muspratt celebrates his 25th season as conductor. NISO kicks off its South Shore Summer Music Festival in Lansing, the only location outside of Indiana where it performs, making the annual event a standout event on Fox Pointe’s calendar, a news release said. “This is the signature event of our summer lineup,” said Lansing Mayor Brian Hardy. “There’s nothing quite like watching the symphony perform live at Fox Pointe. The music, the atmosphere, and the sense of community make it a night we all look forward to.” This is the only performance on the Fox Pointe calendar where attendees are allowed to bring their own food and beverages. Guests are encouraged to pack picnic baskets, coolers, and lawn chairs. For more information, visit FoxPointe.org .
