Multiple teams of first responders from the Hoosier state have traveled to Texas to help with flood relief operations following devastating floods in the central portion of the state. Through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security says Indiana has deployed a team of first responders to Texas to assist with search and rescue operations. The highly trained team will consist of five first responders from local agencies along with three certified search dogs, a news release said. The team arrived in Texas on Friday July 11, 2025, to begin assisting with operations. Indiana Task Force One is also in Texas to help with the aftermath of catastrophic flooding. Indiana Governor Mike Braun says FEMA activated Indiana Task Force One and a 49-member search-and-rescue team also left for Kerr County, Texas, last week.
