In St Joseph County, Indiana State Police say they attended a meeting July 1st called by Rolling Prairie State Representative Jim Pressel to discuss traffic complaints along the State Road 2 / U.S. 20 corridor. It included representatives from Indiana State Police Bremen and Lowell Districts, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, and St. Joseph County Police. A news release says as a result of the meeting, the Bremen District will have troopers assigned to St. Joseph County have a weekly focus on the corridor from the LaPorte/St. Joseph County line to the U.S. 20 Bypass focusing on crash causation factors of speed, following too closely, and reckless driving in the hope that the increased presence will result in voluntary compliance and speeds and aggressive driving will be reduced.
