In Michigan City, the Michigan City Parks and Recreation Department says it has launched a mobile tool trailer to support neighborhood groups and local organizations in hosting community cleanup events. It’s available by reservation with at least two weeks’ notice and has rakes, gloves, safety vests, cones, and other supplies. Interested groups must submit a reservation agreement outlining event details and their commitment to tool safety and accountability, officials said. The Parks Department said on social media they hope the trailer “will energize residents who are eager to improve the appearance of their blocks, parks and green spaces.”
