In Valparaiso, Porter County Aging and Community Services (PCACS) has announced their new executive director is Toni Modglin, bringing 25 years of experience in the nonprofit world to the role. The agency’s offerings include door-to-door, demand response transportation, the Energy Assistance Program, Ramp Program, Food Bank Distribution Site, Medical Loan Closet, and State Health Insurance Assistance Program, a news release said. There is also a recently added Hygiene Bank that offers essential personal care items to Porter County residents in need of deodorant, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and more. The grant-funded initiative is open on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. “Our transportation program is a lifeline for many individuals to ensure they are able to access their community and make it to their appointments,” Modglin said. “Beyond increasing awareness of our current offerings, I hope to pursue other opportunities to bolster our community.”
