In Lake Station, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says State Road 51 bridge work over Interstate 94 is moving into the construction phase with bridge demolition coming up. Region motorists are advised of lane closures in the area starting Tuesday August 5, 2025, and ramp closures scheduled for the work. Schedules are weather dependent. INDOT said construction on the southbound bridge is expected to be ongoing through mid-December, work on the northbound bridge will occur in 2026.
