The Indiana Commission for Higher Education says 60-percent of graduating high schoolers statewide have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA. Over 50,000 students in the class of 2025 filed for the upcoming school year, a news release said. In 2023, the Commission set a goal of 60 percent FAFSA completion rate for high school seniors; it was 54 percent in 2023 and 58 percent last year. The commission says FAFSA unlocks millions in state and federal aid and in Indiana is a requirement for the state’s promise scholarship, which covers tuition and fees for up to four years at any Indiana public institution and partial tuition and fees at Indiana private institutions. The Commission says its Outreach Coordinators are available to assist students and families in the filing process. For more details visit www.learnmoreindiana.org .
