In northwest Indiana, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says a closure on State Road 8 between Kouts and La Crosse is scheduled to be in place through mid-October. The closure is in Porter County between County Roads 300 East and 450 East on or after Tuesday, September 2, 2025, for a bridge deck overlay project. Motorists should seek alternate routes. The official detour follows State Road 49, U.S. 30 and U.S. 421.
