In Griffith, Lake County Master Gardeners Association will host “Bloom & Thrive: A Native Fest” Saturday, September 13, 2025, 9 am-2 pm. Experts will help participants learn to create garden spaces for the environment and pollinators. They include Dr. Scott Stewart, former director of Lurie Garden in Chicago’s Millennium Park, he’ll discuss “Incorporating Native Plants into Your Landscaping;” Heather Prince, a horticulturalist with over 20 years experience in public and private projects- her topic is Woody Plants for Butterflies and Moths; and, Dolly Foster, a well-known local horticulturist and Purdue Extension Horticulture Program Assistant.
