In Texas, rescuers recently freed a toad who’d gotten stuck in a sprinkler access cover. In late August, Friends of The Colony Animal Services in The Colony, Texas, a city near Dallas, says the toad was apparently trying to get through a small hole in an access cover to the water sprinklers in the shelter’s back yard. A post at their Facebook page says Animal Service Officers responded and worked tirelessly to try and free him but with no success, and he was then transported to a veterinary hospital where staff were able to get the toad out safely. Here’s a link to read more and see photos at the Friends of The Colony Animal Services Facebook page.
