City of Valparaiso Updates Warming Centers

In Valparaiso, the city has coordinated with local organizations to announce Warming Centers when temperatures and wind chills dip below freezing: Valparaiso YMCA; Porter County Public Library Valparaiso Branch; and Daybreak Resource Center, with specific days and hours at each location. In addition, Valparaiso Police have a special program for individuals who may need special help during weather emergencies, the Contact Assistance Referral – CARE- Program.
