In Chicago, the Bears say they are expanding their search for a new stadium site – and extending it the northwest corner of the Hoosier state. In an online open letter to fans, Team President and CEO Kevin Warren said despite the benefits to Illinois, state leadership told them the stadium project won’t be a priority in 2026. As a result, the Bears said in addition to Arlington Park, they need to expand their search “and critically evaluate opportunities throughout the wider Chicagoland region, including Northwest Indiana,” the letter said. The team previously said it was moving forward with plans to build a new stadium in Arlington Heights. However, the club has requested state help for infrastructure needs.
