In northwest Indiana, Humane Indiana says they’re hoping to place dozens of pets into loving temporary homes from December 21, 2025 – January 3, 2026, so every animal can feel like they have a home for the holidays. There’s also a special event Home for the Holidays event happening at the Humane Indiana shelter on 45th Street in Munster Friday December 19 through Sunday December 21, 2025, featuring reduced adoption fees. Humane Indiana in a recent social media post said last week they posted a call-out for sheets and blankets, and in just 24 hours they received hundreds of donations, and were told more were on their way. The nonprofit said, “Thank you so much to all who have contributed!
