In Porter County, the Recycling and Waste Reduction District is currently accepting applications for its Citizen’s Advisory Committee. The application period is open until January 2, 2026. The committee is made up of Porter County residents and meets four to six times a year to devise strategies for improving waste reduction efforts throughout the county. “If you are enthusiastic about environmental stewardship and community service, we encourage you to apply,” a news release from the district said. Members are appointed annually. To apply, go to PorterCountyRecycling.org , under the About Us tab find “Reports + Publications”. Scroll down to the Citizen’s Advisory Committee and click on the Application, then email the finished application to the district.
