The Porter County Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), has established a One-Stop-Shop Information Center to help residents and businesses affected by the severe storm that occurred on August 11, 2026.
The Information Center will provide an opportunity for individuals, families, and businesses that experienced storm-related damage to meet with representatives from multiple local, state, and federal agencies in one convenient location. Representatives will be available to answer questions, explain available assistance programs, and help eligible individuals and businesses begin the application process for assistance.
Participating agencies include, but are not limited to:
• Indiana Department of Homeland Security
• Indiana Department of Health (with info on mold cleanup and vital records replacement)
• Indiana Housing Department
• Indiana Department of Insurance
• Bureau of Motor Vehicles
• Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
• And several additional agencies and organizations
Because of the number of agencies participating, the One-Stop-Shop Information Center will be held at a single location within Porter County, allowing those affected by the storm to access multiple resources and services in one place.
Residents and businesses impacted by the August 11, 2026 storm are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the assistance and resources that may be available to them.
