Indiana Audubon said early this week nearly 20-million birds would be moving into and across the Hoosier state. And Region residents can help migrating birds, the nonprofit said on its website, by turning off or dimming outdoor lights between 11 pm and 6 am, as bright outdoor lights can disorient them, drawing them into lighted areas “where they risk exhaustion or fatal collisions with windows.” Indiana Audubon is holding a free online program on bird migration “Echoes of the Night Sky” Wednesday April 30, 2025, at 5:30pm CT.
