In Lake Station, Region motorists are advised of upcoming lane closures on Interstate 94 near State Road 51. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says on or after Monday September 8, 2025, there will be alternating overnight lane closures 7 pm to 5 am between Central Avenue and State Road 249 for about two nights to set barrier wall. Once complete, the left inside shoulder will be closed between Clay Street and the Indiana Toll Road for bridge construction work underneath State Road 51 through the end of October. Construction on the southbound State Road 51 bridge is expected to continue through mid-December 2025, and work on the northbound bridge will occur in 2026, INDOT said.
