Hard Rock Casino Sponsors Newest Gary Police K9 Officer

In Gary, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is sponsoring the Gary Police Department’s newest K9 officer and hosted a special check presentation this week ahead of Crime Prevention Month in October. The event also marked the official introduction of the K9, who was joined by his partner, Corporal Anne Malinoff, a six-year veteran of the Gary Police Department, who also brings extensive experience as both a prior law enforcement officer and current military service member. Gary Mayor Eddie Melton and Police Chief Derrick Cannon, Sr., accepted the check on behalf of the K9 unit. The city said other members of the Gary Police K9 team were also there to welcome their newest officer.
