In Lake County, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says pavement patching work on Interstate 65 between Central Avenue and 93rd Avenue will be moving into phase five. On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, overnight lane closures were scheduled on I-65 southbound between 11 pm and 6 am for one night to switch traffic into the next configuration, and once complete, I-65 southbound will have three lanes shifted to the left with the work zone on the right, INDOT said. The farthest left lane will continue to be a counterflow lane on the northbound side, a news release said, and motorists in the counterflow lane will not have access to the U.S. 30, 61st Avenue or Ridge Road interchanges. Northbound I-65 will remain in its current configuration. Ramps from eastbound and westbound 61st Avenue to I-65 southbound will be closed through early November 2025, and the ramp from Ridge Road to I-65 southbound will remain closed through late November 2025.
