Franciscan Health, Lake County Health Dept. Team Up for Free Outdoor Walking Program

In Crown Point, Franciscan Health and the Lake County Health Department say they have teamed up to provide a free outdoor walking program this fall. Path to Wellness will take place on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 11:30 am October 27, 2025, through November 21, 2025. Registration is on-site at 9:45 a.m. at the main entrance of the Lake County Health Department on West 93rd Avenue in Crown Point. The events will begin with brief wellness-related informational talks followed by guided light stretching and a walk on the Erie Lackawanna Trail. Topics will include mindfulness, personal safety with the Lake County K9 Association, fire safety, pre-diabetes/diabetes prevention and education, cardiovascular health, cancer prevention and early detection, and more. The walks will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
