The National Weather Service says March 8-14, 2026, is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana. Officials say a statewide test tornado drill will be conducted Tuesday March 10, 2026. Here is a link for more details on the test alert that will be sent out that morning. The National Weather Service office in Indianapolis also said if weather conditions warrant, the test will be postponed to Wednesday March 11, 2026. The Porter County Emergency Management Agency says it will be activating the county sirens during the statewide test. The county early warning sirens were also activated on Tuesday March 3, 2026, at 11 am Central Standard Time for the regular monthly siren test, so the county sirens will be activated two weeks in a row.
