In Crown Point, the city’s lighted, nighttime St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at dusk Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the downtown square. Vendors will be set up on Joliet Street between Court and Main streets and on Main Street between Robinson Court and Clark Street from 3-9 p.m. Parking restrictions and road closures are scheduled to begin at 10am, with additional no parking areas and closures in effect throughout the day. More details and a map of the parade route are at the city’s website – crownpoint.info/stpats .
“The St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off our event season, drawing residents and visitors to the heart of our beloved downtown,” said Crown Point Mayor Pete Land. “We have the best St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Region and the original, lighted nighttime parade. Join us for a fantastic celebration.” Beginning at 4 p.m., there will be live Irish/Celtic music from The Galway Girls. The Chicago-based trio will perform from 4-5:05 p.m. and 5:25-6:30 p.m. on the east side of the Courthouse.
Hosted since 2008, the city says the annual celebration typically draws thousands to the downtown square. Parade participants are asked to adorn their parade entries with at least 500 lights.
