In Valparaiso, larger-than-life poppies are just some of the new sculptures along the Art Walk at Cumberland Crossing on the north side of the city. The newly installed collection, on display through May 2027, features 20 works by 14 local, regional and nationally recognized artists. Maggie Clifton, Valpo’s Community Engagement Director and administrator of the exhibit says the Art Walk, now in its 15th year, “promotes curiosity and creativity as it adds interest for walkers, bikers and drivers along this important pathway.” New this year, visitors can use the free Otocast app to hear from the artists themselves about the creative process behind their featured works. The city of Valparaiso is also hosting a Community Choice Award through the platform where you can explore the exhibit and vote for your favorite sculpture by October 1, 2026. The Otocast app is available for free through the app store or online. Works featured in the exhibit are selected annually by the City’s volunteer Art Advisory Committee. All sculptures are available for purchase. To learn more about pricing and availability, contact artists directly. To support public art and sponsor a specific sculpture at the Art Walk, contact Maggie Clifton via email at Valparaiso City Hall to learn more.
