In Michigan City, the school board recently approved a long-term facilities plan. It includes the construction of a new Edgewood Elementary, and renovations at Lake Hills, Pine, and Marsh elementary schools. Additions and renovations would turn Krueger Middle School into an intermediate school serving grades 5-8. Changes would be implemented in the 2029-2030 academic year. Michigan City Area Schools said the recommendations follow a comprehensive process that began in 2024.
