The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County invites residents to an Upcycled Valentine’s Day Family Workshop in partnership with Art Barn. The workshop will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, 1 p.m. through 4 p.m. at Art Barn School of Art on 400 East in Valparaiso. Registration is open to the public with a limit of 24 participants via: https://www.artbarnschool.org/service-page/upcycled-valentines-family-workshop?category=8c64caa1-0f20-4713-a6d9-8283b0795223&referral=service_list_widget .
The fee is $10 per person.
“Art Barn instructors will help participants turn trash into treasure during this family-fun workshop. Using materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill, such as discarded cards, ribbon, scrap paper, and small boxes and containers, participants will create beautiful Valentine’s Day treasures,” a news release from the recycling district said. Refreshments will be served, and staff from Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County will be on site to talk about ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The workshop is suitable for adults and children ages 6+ with a parent, the district said, and all materials and supplies will be provided.
